I agree with a lot of this.
I guess my question is...what could Getzlaf be worth? He has lower stats than Palmeri and Palmeri and Zajac combined for a 1st round pick. So surely Getzlaf isnt getting a 1st round pick? Unless the name makes someone overpay I guess.
I think Getzlaf would be interesting, provided the price is right. I've seen some Ducks folks on Twitter say that Getzlaf has told Murray he doesnt want to be traded. With COVID, I can understand how much of a pain it would be to go across the country for a few weeks.
Im honestly not sure what else this team needs besides to get our team healthy. Guys like Rodrigues have really stepped up and added to the depth the Penguins have. |

2 things Palmeri and Zajac were traded for a 1st and a 4th and 50% of thier salary was retained. Pardon the play on words, but the devil is in the detail on that trade.
And 2. If Getzlauf doesn't want to be traded, he won't be.

I still think penguins get Mantha.
He’s fairly young, strong power forward, able to move into top 6 if need be.
Down year so cost shouldn’t be too high. |

Throws quite the wrench into the expansion side of things too. |

Gusev unconditionally released.
Remember last summer when RW and others on this site thought the Pens should have signed him and not Tanev? |

IMO the only trade candidate out of Calgary who is worthwhile is Ryan. He's a smart bottom 6 centre, good at faceoffs and can produce. Not big / physical ... he's the reason they cut Jankowski loose so no way would they take him back. Calgary will probably resign him in the summer but as a rental depth forward, he's not bad. |

Malkin moves to wing on the rare occasions he plays with Crosby. No reason he can't LW with McCann.
Nice to hear Sullivan is at least considering expanding Blueger's role. He needs to be challenged, if for no other reason this team needs guys who can play multiple positions. |

Foligano and Iafallo might be interesting when fitted into the 1st 3 lines |

I wish the Wings didn’t have Yzerman so I could see Feds’ cocky ass squirm when his GM sells guys for way less than expected like almost every dumb poop GM in this league does. |

Why? Malkin is a natural center. Why wouldn't McCann just play LW on his line? |

I just really can’t bring myself to care about expansion. Like what’s the worst case for us? They take Zucker and we have like an extra $5 mil to try and sign Hall with? Bug woop. |

Oh I'm with you, I totally agree. I don't give a poop about expansion one bit. Any guy that is selected will be replaceable but as I asked early about Sully thinking like us... do GMs? |

He hasn't been cleared to play by the doctors yet. - burgh4life87
But why hasn't he been cleared? He's been practicing for over two weeks with the team. What more is needed? |

The actual worst case scenario is not protecting Blueger and having him end up being Wild Bill Karlsson in Seattle. But if they take Zucker or McCann, oh well. |
